MISSION SWASTH stands for Safe Water Assurance Scheme for Total Health.

The United Nations Millennium Development Goal categorically emphasizes on reducing the number of people without access to safe drinking water and sanitation facilities by 50% till year 2015. The Government of India is targeting to cover the above by year 2012 by creating awareness (The year 2007 is National Water year, The year 2008 is International Sanitation year), adopting technologies, which could bring water security for the future generations till 2050. The Government is emphasizing to bring Public - Private - Community Partnership because of its sustainability and involvement of all the major stakeholders in drinking water sector.

At DVWS, our aim is to provide healthy and safe water to rural India and reduce the prevalence of water related diseases. MISSION SWASTH aims to improve the general hygiene standards by providing an array of water management solutions to the villages and communities. Under MISSION SWASTH, we act not only as technology partners but also these communities will be trained in local leadership, financial management skills and operation of system in order to manage the model most effectively with minimal dependence on outsiders. MISSION SWASTH provides all infrastructure and training to the local villagers with greater participation of women.
